What's for dinner? Bachelor night edition
« on: August 30, 2013, 11:57:08 PM »
SWMBO is alerady at the Commie Day vacation location.  I head out there tomorrow afternoon.  So for dinner I made about he easiest non-microwave (or equivalent) dinner I could think up.

2lbs greenling fillets (its what was in the freezer)
Oil in caserole dish, add fish, sprinkle with oil, herbs and spices to suit plus some garlic.
Bake at 350 until flakey
Boil fine spaghetti noodles (first time eating non-gluten-free in a while for me)
Put cooked noodles on plate, top with pieces of fish, drizzle with store bought Alfredo sauce.

Yum!

Stouffers Chicken Cordon Bleu. All I eat lately is frozen food, so I can get back to doing something other than eating.

Last night went over to a friends for a big get together.  We had Beef Ribs, Corn on the Cob, Waldorf Salad, and Tater Tots (No, I brought the Corn).   Silk pie for desert, and great conversation all night.

Bachorlette, then.

But the ice cream I bought last week is not quiet as good as it sounded and I'm not PMSing anyway, so I skipped the ice cream from the carton thing. Bryers strawberry shortcake is not so great. :(

Not to mention, I have more man cards then the lot of you anyway, even with the reading of romance novels and My Little Pony collection, so now what? :P

Rotini noodles and some sauce with lots of meat. Probably do a 2-1 ratio of ground beef to ground sausage. Gonna make it very meat heavy.

Fajitas.

Same here..  just picked all the ripe peppers from the garden.  Have some sweet onions, some chicken, and a batch of homemade salsa ready to go with it.

This morning I had wheat toast topped with broiled SPAM, diced tomatoes (straight from the can), and a shot of raspberry chipotle sauce, served with a side of leftover frijoles refritos laced heavily with butter and sour cream.  Too bad I didn't have a pitcher of Bloody Mary handy, that (and a good cigar) would have made for the perfect sit-on-the-back-porch-and-enjoy-the-sunrise breakfast.

Brats and squash on the grill right now, along with a Miller HiLife.  Just went for a bicycle ride and I am thirsty and hungry!

New York strip on the grill with foil pack garlic potatoes and veggie kabobs with zucchini, onion, green peppers and cherry tomatoes all fresh from the garden. Cheap but decent red wine blend from South America.
Dishes consisted of plates, tongs, silverware and wine glass. No mess in the kitchen

Kid is here so no bachelor, but I went all prepper because I didn't feel like defrosting frozen meat. BPSF canned turkey http://www.internet-grocer.com/realmeat.html is quite good as is all their canned meat. Made up some homemade gravy with the juice and a can of chicken broth, simmered the turkey up in that. Some garden corn from my failed garden along with a few tomatoes and some green beans I canned 3 years ago. Using old stock so even the butter was from a can, Red Feather brand, also good stuff.
AKA Navy Joe

I'm so contrarian that I didn't respond to the thread.

It was either that or some frozen buffalo chicken strips from Safeway and blue cheese dressing.  I had a bunch of stuff in the fridge that I had to eat up before it started turning, so I just threw the stuff together.
