Even NPR is getting sloppy with their fact-checking
« on: September 28, 2013, 09:45:10 PM »
I just made a run to the grocery store, and had the radio on -- a quiz show on NPR called "Ask Me Another".  They asked a question about the only non-human to testify before Congress, and the answer was Elmo.  But that's wrong (the answer isn't wrong so much as the question)  In 1993, Lamb Chop testified in the House about children's television.

What's the world coming to?

Technically, neither testified, the person doing their voices testified.  At least I assume they weren't just sitting on the table.

What, NPR is actually fact checking now?
Personally, I do not understand how a bunch of people demanding a bigger govt can call themselves anarchist.

I listened to about five minutes of that show.

Now, bear in mind that I can almost always tolerate NPR... But that show is the radio form of hipsterism.

They copied the naming style and format of a much better show, they aren't funny, and they did an episode on "irony" that made me want to tear the radio out of the car.  They will also send you a free pair of wayfarers and a case of PBR if you ask.

I'm starting to suspect that there are some non-humans in Congress ...  =|

All right, kid, here's the deal. At any given time there are approximately 1500 aliens on the planet, most of them right here in Manhattan. And most of them are decent enough, they're just trying to make a living.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Samuel Adams
