Aprilaire.  Just about every house around here has one.  Mounts to the furnance plenum. Plug into 120 outlet.  Run a tap line to a cold water pipe and the drain line to a drain (normally laundry tub or even to the sump.)  Humidity Controller mounts right next to the thermostat.  Easy-Peasy.  Mine looks like the 3rd image.

A friend of mine has a self-filling humidifier on his furnace - I could ask him what model if you are interested.

Thanks all, no the guy has no furnace so I need a floor model. There are plenty of those but they all have to be filled manually. I'd like to find one that fills automatically. Hard to believe none exist. There'sa few lovelt wall hung steamers as long as you don't mind paying ~$1200 or so installed.
