« on: September 01, 2006, 03:35:15 PM »
I got an email from someone that I think also reads here telling me that my attitude makes people uncomfortable.

Cheesy

You know what I think about that?

Sort of a combination of "cool" and "so what?"

Cheesy

A good friend of mine once told me that if you're catching flak, you're over the target.

I'm sorry, I'm just amused. It's not like I'm deliberately a bitch, I just don't form my opinions to make other people like me and if someone says something immensely stupid and no one else calls them on it, I'm probably going to. I'm like Jiminy Cricket with PMS.

Smiley

I am nice, though..I just have a low BS threshold. Smiley

What attitude? When I think of attitude, a couple names here on APS do come to mind, but yours certainly isn't one of them. Maybe I'm just not paying attention...

I don't see a problem.

Maybe "they" are projecting their own limits in your direction.

Maybe "they" are "uncomfortable" because you communicate more directly than the average, um...ahhh, well, (gulp) girl???

A common rejoinder I learned from a very wise lady friend in my past would go something like...."YOU are responsible for YOUR feelings, I have no control over them".  She was also the one who postulated "The finest relationships are those without expectations".  That's a tough one to live up to.  (BTW, she was NOT one of the ONES who could have been THE ONE...close, but not quite.)

I don't see a problem....tell 'em to blow it out their wazoo!

Barbara, in the words of Joseph Conrad:  "You're one of us."  A high compliment I say.

You sometimes have an attitude, just like the rest of us.  Sometimes we APSers have friendly chats here, sometimes we scrap like rabid dogs.  Whatever.

I like you.

You're one of the reasons I read this place, Barbara. You remind me of my mother. (I'm near the same age as your son, so that's not a bad thing. Smiley)

Barbara,

Some folks just have no common sense, no street smarts, no integrity, no ethics, no morals , the abilty to be honest with themselves and would not know which end of a boot to pour water out of if the instructions were written on the sole.

Not to mention just being plain stupid.

Insecure whiny butt little twerps have to inflate their self esteem by picking on someone that has quality traits, in attempts to wear them down to build themselves up.

Yeah folks say I have "attitude problem" sometimes too.  No I don't, one has to have an attitude before one can have problem with one.

I ain't got an attitude, so how in the hell can I have a problem with something I do not have?

Screw' em - feed 'em fish heads and rice I say.

"I just have a low BS threshold"

Same way with me, and it gets lower and lower as I accumulate birthdays.  I'm working on full-blown grouchy old man status.

You've never said anything that bothered me.  I always pay special attention when I see your name on a thread or post because I figure you have something interesting to say.

I told him not to make a move until the time was right, this has ruined all of our anti-Barbara plans, we must start from scratch.
Her awareness of the group will set our assault date back by at least another month.

Delighted to hear it.  Sounds like it's time for you to take up knife throwing/tomahawks, yes?

The finger-sized little blades always get noticed when you use them instead of darts. . .

And 'hawks are addictive!

So, by now if the person that sent you the email reads this board they've hopefully gotten the idea that they might be barking up the wrong tree.
