I'll give you the same instructions I was given:

BEVERAGE ALERT.

Put down the beverage.

Swallow.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Am I hallucinating that there were a lot more responses, most of which consisted of really bad  (meaning AWESOME!) puns?

While I agree that it might not have been in the best of taste, I have seen worse survive moderation.

Or am I just hallucinating?

After a few hours sleep I figured it out - I was not hallucinating.  Merely remembering a different thread and thinking it was this one.

Look, when you get to be as old as I am folks ought to be happy I can remember which way the clothes go on.  Although sometimes the youngsters here at the home screw up while helping me to dress, and put the buttons on my shirt in the back.

I'm so contrarian that I didn't respond to the thread.

True tale:

The night watch at work, "Did you hear Obama's been killed?"

Me, "No."

Night watch, with a major shoulder heaving stage sigh, "Oh,"  then with a maritime disaster smile, "Well... maybe tomorrow!"
Gee, I'd love to see your data!

Watch the pun master at work.

In the automotive spirit, perhaps we should call it the o-no-meter.

People say they don't like puns, but most people have groan to like them.
