Well, like I said, GM makes way better trucks than they do cars IMHO. If I wanted a car, I would go with Ford for a "domestic" maker or Asian for an "import" (yes I know imports are often made domestically while supposed domestic is made overseas...which is why I LOL at people who go "I'm only buying American cars!" when they are sitting in a car made in say, Canada)
GM has made some really good cars and a lot of spectacularly bad cars.
My rule of thumb is if the model of car is an analog of something offered by Buick (body/size/drivetrain), its generally ok, which tends to exclude most small cars*
*Geo Prisms from the 90s were awesome, but I think that's because their drivetrains were made by Toyota.
