Wanna Start a Business? Rwanda is Better than US
« on: January 22, 2014, 10:31:26 AM »
It is now easier to navigate Rwandan red tape than it is to navigate US red tape. This is kind of sad, especially because this is a World Bank generated report. Given their political leanings, them coming up with these results shows just how bad the US has become in the "business unfriendly" department.

Might be a good place to start a machete factory  =)

I absolutely believe it. While compliance is not impossible, it's not a quick or easy process unless you hire a lawyer and CPA to set up everything for you.

The US has become very business unfriendly.

Hell it's confusing as *expletive deleted*ck just to get started, before you even start getting taxes and regulations and *expletive deleted*it involved...just getting the licenses and tax numbers and *expletive deleted*it together is a pain in the *expletive deleted*ing ass.

The Rwandan example that the headline uses is of course a bit sensational, since you can easily start a business, and then as per Tallpine's machete reference, have your head chopped off the next day. The other countries that are "better than us" are a bit frustrating to me, because many of them are socially progressive countries that are always used by progressives here as examples of how a country should be run. Those same progressives are the ones that make our business climate so difficult.

The process of bribing the right political officials is going to be a lot more direct and easy to navigate in a place like Rwanda than in the United States.

Which is the point. It's a sort of covert jobs program.
