A simple blood test for Alzheimer's?

This will be amazing if the initial results are borne out by further studies.  One of the problems in treating Alzheimer's is that by the time a diagnosis is made and treatment begun, the damage is so far along that treatment is of limited effectiveness.  If we can make an earlier diagnosis and start treatment, will we have better outcomes?

Back when I was doing risk management for the hospice service lines, a sizable chunk of the patients there were there for dementia, from Alzheimer's and other causes.  It sure convinced me that I do not want to get dementia.

I read somewhere that drinking coffee helps prevent Oldtimers disease.

I'm doing my part
Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin
