Firewood the easy way?
« on: April 29, 2014, 08:29:56 PM »
My 80+ year old neighbor tells me he's got a tree down from the wind a few weeks ago. Tells me to come get it for firewood. Should be pretty easy he said.

Probably 2-3+ cords of wood in this pile if I can get it out.
It may wait til winter though. Everything growing up around it is either blackberry briars, smilacs or poison ivy.

Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

There are cords of twisted hedge up this way. One of them I saw had to be five foot around.

Awesome stuff RKL!
Personally, I do not understand how a bunch of people demanding a bigger govt can call themselves anarchist.

What were we talking about, again?  Zombie trees and old trucks, or something?

As the the tree, the big dead oak in the back is kind of creepy looking

firewood and easy only belong in a sentence where you discuss writing a check to buy some
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

"easy"  =|

You keep using that word.  I don't think it means what you think it means.

Better have a long bar and a chain that cuts really straight  ;)

"Easy" is relative. Some of the cutting I do the land owner knocks the trees down with a dozer. I don't even have to mess with the brush.

The big dead oak will take some strategierizing to get it down safely but it's a bunch of wood and it's close to home.

Easiest would be to just burn the tree in place and go to it with sticks and marshmallows, than cutting it up and hauling it away piece by piece.
I promise not to duck.
