Any good places to get stuff for Ipods on the 'net, like podcasts?  What about this place?

podcastalley is pretty solid

The two podcasts I'm listening to currently are
This Week in Tech (TWiT)
www.twit.tv

and Switched:On
www.switchedonshow.com

Both are available from the iTunes Music Store if you happen to be a disgusting iTunes whore like me.

Lex & Terry...they are a syndicated morning show out of Dallas (used to be Jacksonville, FL).  I like them...don't know if you will.  You can download from iTunes.

I'm going to bump this back up because I need more help....
I'm looking for software for subscribing to podcasts off the 'net.  Podcast alley is a good search engine, but the software they recommended sucked.  I do have Itunes for my Video Ipod, does anyone know if that can be used to collect podcasts from the 'net?

As far as I know, yes.  I am not sure if it is automated though.

fistful:

Probably a reference to Limbaugh's admission of addiction to prescription pain meds after years of characterizing addicts in a very negative light.

He is always preaching the WoSD rhetoric and then gets busted hitting pretty much every doc in Palm Beach for drugs for his "habit."  I'd call that a tad hypocritical myself.

Yes, yes it does.  He rails on drug addicts, and himself turns out to be one.   I'd bet many of his anti-drug rants were while he was high...

In my opinion, yes. I make a conscious effort (not always successfully) to avoid demonizing or ridiculing people for behavior of which I am also guilty. Not doing so, or not openly ackowledging that I held a double standard, would make me a hypocrite (by my understanding of the term, which is essentially not practicing what one preaches).

Of course this is way off topic now....
I found the option in Itunes for subscribing.  There is an option in Advanced to Subscribe to Podcast, and then you punch in the Url....

If doing something you feel is wrong is hypocrisy, then the charge becomes meaningless.  We're all guilty of that.  If Rush made excuses for his habit, then I would also call him a hypocrite.  If he tried to explain that his actions were not so bad, or that it was OK in his case to abuse pain meds, but not for others, then I would call him a hypocrite.  If he resisted arrest, or whined about drug laws being too restrictive, or too harsh, I would call him a hypocrite.

Besides that, I've listened to Rush for more than a decade, and I don't recall him railing against drug addicts.  I'm sure he's done it from time to time, but some appear to believe that drugs are his only topic.

A) yes, doing something you think is wrong is hypocrisy.
B) I've personally heard him rail on drug addicts on his show, calling them something like weak.

Was he railing on those who abuse prescription pain-killers?  Again, by your standard everyone is a hypocrite, so why get on Limbaugh's case?  Those whose political advice you value have done no wrong?

Weak?  You don't think he has acknowledged that he was weak?

Limbaugh said:
Quote
I am not making any excuses. You know, over the years, athletes and celebrities have emerged from treatment centers to great fanfare and praise for conquering great demons. They are said to be great role models and examples for others. Well, I am no role model. I refuse to let anyone think I am doing something great here, when there are people you never hear about, who face long odds and never resort to such escapes. They are the role models. I am no victim and do not portray myself as such. I take full responsibility for my problem.

Limbaugh was brought up in this thread because he's got a podcast.  He sure as hell ain't the only political figure who is a hypocrite.
Why am I beating up on him?  Because he's a public figure, who said one thing and did another, and showed his true colors.  I also find him to be a worthless windbag, but that's besides the point Tongue
