Realizing there was no chance of surviving before a jury, Officer Fry's lawyers decided to settle the case last week for $77,500.
So now they have to drop the speed limit twice within a couple of blocks to generate enough cash to offset the judgement.
Got tagged (ca 1976) in one of those situations in Gilcrest CO. Sixty-five mph on the highway and within 100 feet another sign that said 50 mph.

And yeah, the "large sums of money" and the "driver inappropriate to the car" things also bother me.
It also makes me want to keep a can of Glade room deodorant in the car. I wonder if the dogs, certified or not, would "alert" on that. (Note: I do not use any drugs at all.)
