TTAG posted about TBoggs' rawstory.com entry up there in response to My Parents Open Carry. His condescending snark and ill-concealed hate of those who dare think differently from himself were... impressive.
First entry on the TTAG comments, as of the time I read it two days ago, made it into my FB status. "I don’t ever want to hear “why can’t we have a reasonable common sense conversation [about] guns” ever again."" Wrote up a whole little diatribe about that. And it's absolutely true - so many of the SAME PEOPLE calling for a "reasonable common sense conversation" are doing so immediately after or actually in the process of saying and writing the foulest lies about us pro-rights types. To them, if you differ in any particulars from their own position, you are by definition NOT speaking reasonably and using common sense, and deserve no politeness, no civility, no recognition of your own humanity. Sure, we have idiots and ... southbound ends of northbound horses... on our side as well, but for every, say, Ted Nugent, I'd guess there are a hundred or more people on the victim-disarmament side willing to call us inbred toothless idiot monsters with small... parts, and who absolutely believe that it's proper for them to act in that manner. The prevailing conversations coming from their side revolve around those insults as starting points.
People who indulge in reasonable, civil conversation will be conversed with, by me, in a reasonable and civil manner. We may not AGREE, but we'll talk about it calmly and rationally. Those who want to use "reasonable, civil conversation" as an excuse to insult me or call me any variety of monster? They can go straight to hell, and I'll return to them every measure of ill treatment they lob my way.
Most of the links above appear to be broken, BTW.
