Firefox help?

Since switching over to Firefox, I've been having trouble with the system remembering log-ins. Used to be that all I had to do was click on a bookmark and I would automatically be logged in. Not so anymore. And it seems to be random as to whether or not the system will prompt for a password.
I have gone thru the options and set everything I can find to remember stuff, but no joy.
Any advice from the resident panel of experts?

Go to Tools/Options/Privacy and make sure that in the Passwords tab, that remember passwords is checked, and in the Cookies tab, that allow sites to set cookies is checked.

For some inexplicable reason, my Firefox setup sometimes seems to 'forget' the passwords and cookies, and I have to reload them.  And I have the tabs above checked.

I think cookies get erased after a while...
I have been running crap cleaner and always need to login again
but the pc runs faster so I like it

Strange...
I've found Firefox does a much better job at password and login than IE.

I allow only sites that I want to allow. I've never had Firefox "lose" a stored password or cookie that allows a login.
