#3.339 at a BP in Old, IA for e-15.

It is a filing station out in the middle of nowhere on the Avenue of the Saints (US Hwy 218, IA Hwy 27) between Iowa City and Mt. Pleasant, IA. I've been by it a few times lately heading for my hometown, it really is the cheapest gas I have seen lately.

I paid $3.29 a gallon this morning, but that was only because I had 90 cents a gallon off in rewards points.

When I went to lunch the local Murphy's was $3.64 for low test.  When I left work this afternoon it was $3.56.

Crude is down over $4.50 a barrel right now on the recent stockpile release and lockdown news from China.

Biden is increasing E15 output. At a time when farmers are paying top dollar for fertilizer, and not long after he talked about "expecting food shortages". So yeah, lets use more land for fuel corn instead of feed and people corn.

I can't see it helping much if any. This year will be the first time ever that my area will grow more soybeans than corn due to fertilizer cost.

$3.29 this morning.

...

...

...

... for E85.  >:D

I run a couple tanks of corn squeezin's every few months to de-carbon the combustion chambers and (hopefully) minimize intake valve carbon deposits. The dual-mode injection system in current 5.0 engines isn't as bad about it as the single-mode GDI engines, but why take chances. It also smells nice and the truck really, really likes it. Not so much in overall power but it's noticeably more responsive at part throttle. I presume it's due to a combination of intake charge temp/density and the computer using E85's 104 octane rating as an excuse to max out low-RPM timing and ramp up the throttle response curve. I certainly don't mind.

Mornings are a little cooler than I normally like for running E85, but single-digit RH the next few days means I shouldn't have issues with intake icing.

So we have E-10 in the Seattle area.  If it goes up to E-15, is that going to have negative implications for the lawnmower and the Yamaha scooter?  I am assuming that the cars (2016 Tacoma and 2020 Santa Fe) are new enough such that they won't have any issues.

Final tally for us.

Ohio —-> Florida —-> Arizona —-> Ohio 31 March-12 April

Miles traveled = 4652
Fuel cost = $758.03
Airbnb in Florida $425 for 2 days
Hotels = $688.49

$1871.52 + food costs to attend 2 weddings….My niece was married in Florida and my son in Arizona.

Gas was in the high $3 range for most of the trip, even down in Florida.  Arizona was the highest with West Texas close to, and sometimes right around the $4.10 range.  Eastern Texas stayed below $4.

There are only 2300 stations setup to pump E-15 so if you don't have it now I don't see them changing over. I hate to even put E-10 in any of my 2 strokes but don't always have the option.

OK, recent posters, are the prices you seeing in your areas up, down, or the same?

The prices in my area have been pretty stable the last couple of weeks, most above $4 a gallon, but the Global down the street keeps bouncing back and forth between $3.99 and $4.09.

They're at $4.09 right now.
