WTI crude has dropped below $70 a barrel.

RBOB is currently sitting at $2.39 a gallon, down another five cents.

Well Iran is trying to put the brakes on that, they seized another tanker. 2nd in a week.

Looks like it's time for the US Navy to start escorting tankers through the straits again.

I just read that story and am wondering what's going on. It was heading to the UAE. The story is short on info on the "why", and I am wondering why other ME countries might not be getting riled by this?

While the other ME countries are no doubt getting tired of this, it's always been the US that has stepped in and done something about it.  I'm sure they are sitting on their hands waiting for us to thwack Iran on the wrist again.

3.50 here but the interesting thing is diesel is within forty cents. Weak industrial demand I suspect.

In a nutshell, don't worry, there's plenty of oil in Venezuela and the MI that we will have no problem getting.

Gas just dropped another 10 cents at the Shell. Down to $3.35.

Oil is slowly moving back up, though.

Damn, up almost $2 a barrel in pretrading.

China has such a big Navy these days (everyone says so).  Why don't they send some destroyers to escort tankers?  Surely they have the range and capability to operate beyond the South China Sea.

I'd rather they didn't. One of the few things we have going for us over the Chinese fleet is our blue water and "world" experience. The Chinamen have been using their fleet more like a Coast Guard. No need to give them experience elsewhere.  =)

Saw $3.09 at the Sunoco down the hill while we were running around this afternoon.  Everyone else is $3.19 or a few cents more.

Had to take the girl down to the far SW corner of Missouri this morning for Colledge orientation. Saw it for $2.89 at several stations in that area. Still $3.49 by me.

Huh.... stations around me have stabilized in the $3.27 to $3.39 a gallon range...

Until yesterday, when the price at Wawa jumped to $3.45.

Not sure what's up with that.
