$3.29 today in Princeton, WV; Sheetz, just off I77. Lowest it's been in a while.

North TX, $2.88 for gas, $3.83 for diesel.

Rolled the dice after work & didn't fill up.  If my luck goes opposite of what it normally is, the price will continue to drop over the next two days.

The cheap stuff is now down to $2.829.  Diesel is $3.769 and non-ethanol is $3.929.

I'm glad the generator's the only thing that needs non-ethanol.

It dropped another couple cents here this week.

It's now down to $3.34 at the one station, and $3.35 at a couple others.

$3.79 here in Illinois where we have something like the 2nd or 3rd highest state fuel tax.
We buy much of our fuel at Costco just over the Iowa border. $3.27 there last week.

Seems to have bottomed out around $3.09 around here.  No real change in the last week or so.

Iowa is $0.245 tax per gallon on ethanol gasoline and $.030 tax per gallon on no E.

Illinois is $.039 tax per gallon. Is there local fuel taxes there too?

Glad I filled the truck last night.  Gas went up $0.17 overnight, it's now $2.99/gal.  Diesel didn't move though.

Is that current? I thought one of Governor Jelly Belly Pritzker's first actions was to add .50 to the fuel tax. We are always 40-50 cents or more higher. I know semi truck drivers try not to fuel up here.

I just went off a website of gas taxes for every state.

I just found out that Illinois has some sort of variable gas tax (whatever that means), additional sales taxes on gas and local gas taxes. Eek.

Yep, when I go to the Nauvoo, IL area 2-3 time a year, I make sure I fill up in Iowa before I cross the crick.

I'll need to remember to do the same when I go to Muncie, IN in April 2024 to witness the eclipse.

To my surprise, the price has dropped around here. I just paid $3.299 for unleaded regular gasahol at the discount club.

Last week it was $3.599

Price dropped 2 to 3 cents at several of the stations around me.

Oil has been moving down this week. Today's it's down to $83.37 a barrel. RBOB is down to $2.26, down from its early August high of nearly $3 a gallon.

One chain station down the hill from us just bumped their price twenty cents to $3.29.  Haven't seen any others follow yet.

Hum... Oil was down well over $2 a barrel earlier today.

Now it's recovering and is down $1.14.

I have a funny feeling it might end the day up a bit.

And oil is SCREAMING back today on fears of escalation of the fighting in the middle east.

Saw $2.98 today.

Lowest I've seen here in NOVA around my house is $3.29.

I paid $3.31 yesterday to top up the Forester.

And cool! I have enough grocery rewards points to get $1.50 a gallon off my next fill up next weekend.

When I went to a certain Circle K station this afternoon, their listed price was $3.399 but I have one of their discount card that takes 10 cents off that price.  Unfortunately, the card expires 12/31/23 and, to get that lower price, you have to give them access to your checking account.
Ain't gonna happen !   [barf]
Other stations in this area are still as high as $3.659.

The station that bumped to $3.29 a week ago is back down to $3.07 as of yesterday.

Dropped another few cents at the stations near my house. $3.25 at the Global and I think $3.27 at the Wawa.

Interesting.

Even with the entire Middle East being a roiling shitshow of monumental proportions right now, oil has been dropping slowly. It's currently down $1.30 and is flirting with dropping below $81 a barrel.
