What is up in France?

The consequences of unfettered immigration.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

I've heard a couple of discussions here and there which just barely touch on people having to protect themselves... one participant in that video is an example --he brushes on the concept of self-protection, but doesn't leave any paint.

So far, in the MSM, I've not heard anyone come out with the oh-so-politically-incorrect idea that the citizenry itself should be armed.

Disappointing.  I'm waiting for somebody in the  "mainstream" to directly suggest that.

And I'm also waiting for someone to bring up the notion that we've had enough of the "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,  the wretched refuse of your teeming shore.  Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me.  I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" nonsense.

Close that "golden door!"

WHATEVER YOUR DEFINITION OF "INFRINGE " IS, YOU SHOULDN'T BE DOING IT.

Listened to this all the way into work:
The Deli/Kosher Grocery was reported as ONE individual.

The two brothers suspected of shooting up the newspaper office were reported as being holed up in a factory in a village outside of Paris.

The Grocery guy was reportedly threatening the hostages unless the police let the brothers go.

The French authorities conducted a simultaneous raid on both locations, all 3 shot and killed.  Hostages rescued.  No word on preceding injuries, deaths, etc...

Also, female police officer shot & killed yesterday is now suspected to be the work of the grocery guy.

The consequences of unfettered immigration.

One point that was raised was that France and England kind of "own" their issues with ME/Muslim extremism in their countries, as their colonial past in Algeria and N. Africa, and Pakistan etc. and the close economic and cultural ties they formed with those countries, they brought it on themselves to a degree. And that England's problems are smaller than France's to a degree because of a greater level of integration and upward mobility for Pakistanis and Indians in England, than the Algerians and N. Africans have enjoyed in France.

Perhaps it's akin to America's woes in our inner cities. The whole "Well, you brought them here.."-argument I guess.  =|

That's not to say that any of that means these places in Europe deserve a push for Sharia, or the "no-go zones" for the police and the native population, or the terrorist attacks. Just that it's a somewhat different dynamic than say somewhere like say Sweden who's Muslim/Middle Eastern problems are largely a more recent development of abject governmental idiocy with their asylum and immigration policies.
I promise not to duck.
