I have tried the pre-cooked bacon, but didn't care for it.  Of course, I tried to regrill it just a little.  Maybe that was a mistake.  Might have to try it again.  The real bacon bits is a good idea too.

The oven works well if you want to cook a lot.  Hard to beat the skillet though especially since you can easily fry your eggs in the grease.

I've had pre-cooked bacon a few times because it the long run it was better than the crap that was being served overseas in the DFAC's.  Also rather convenient to pack into a ruck and take along when playing in the field for a weekend.

Nice thing about the oven method: very easy to save the grease for your eggs or pancakes. (Or for searing that chicken breast you were going to bake for lunchtime...)
