I grew up in Lawton OK, the home to Ft Sill. Close by was the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge that had a good sized herd of bufflers as well as free ranging longhorn cattle. It wasn't summer until some yahoo from "back east" went out to the refuge and tried to pet a cow or buff, it usually didn't end well for the visitor. ;)

Made a trip through there on the bike in the Fall of '08. this guy was too close for my comfort.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.
