Interesting to see it gaining some traction. I think it's a neat little round that does a couple things pretty well.

I'm coming to grips with the idea of Dutch special forces....

Nope.  I don't get it.

They've actually had some serious anti-terror scrapes and acquitted themselves pretty well. Watched a documentary about the Dutch Royal Marines' response to a train hijacking.

Fellow hunter at the hog hunting ranch said it was good for hogs.  The ballistics look to me like they duplicated the .30 Carbine, for whatever that's worth.

The Wiki page suggests it's closer to 7.62x39, higher BC but better energy at 300m.

Last time I read anything about the Dutch army it was supposed to be unionized and wigs were provided for the soldiers so their short military haircuts wouldn't embarrass them when they were off duty . . .

Supersonic ballistics duplicate 7.62x39. Sub sonics duplicate .45 auto but with better BC for distance shooting.

Probably a silly question, but can supersonic and subsonic .300blk be fired in the same rifle without modification?

Yep, although obviously zero changes.
They both cycle just fine though.

Yup.  Well, at least that's what I remember as well.  That, and they would vote on whether to go out on training maneuvers.  Well, that's the word on the street.

.300 AAC supersonic runs a 110-125 grain bullet while sub sonic runs about 220 grain. With a can super still gets the sonic boom breaking the sound barrier. Subsonic with a can the noise is the action cycling, well, mostly =D

Most of the noise from subsonic with a can is the shooter giggling.
