Hell on Wheels - The Final Season
« on: July 18, 2015, 04:19:32 PM »
The last season of "Hell on Wheels" starts today. They're doing what I absolutely hate, and splitting the season in half. Five episodes now, five next year.

Still, I'm looking forward to the season and hope they end half as well as "Justified" did. I still can't get over the Ruth episode last season. :(

Waiting eagerly. They're doing a lead-in with last season now. And I'm with you on the Ruth episode.

No kidding. Split seasons suck, and I've been waiting on this one with bated breath.

Final episodes just hit netflix. I'll probably binge watch on monday after the holiday guests have left and I have some peace and quiet.

Dammit. I got a Netflix email and a "new episodes" notice, but I guess it's just the first seven, not the last seven. Sorry for the false alarm.

Okay, NOW they are out. Just got my Amazon Instant email, so will watch the first episode tonight.

Sadly, as much as I have loved the show,  this freakin' year plus wait has taken a lot of my enthusiasm away. Three to six month waits are bad enough, but this length of time has almost made it feel like the series was canceled and I moved on to other things. Had it been a year wait and a full season, it would be better, but a year wait and a half dozen episodes is pretty anti-climatic.

You mean it isn't characterized by anthropomorphic global warming climate change?

Better than the wait times for new seasons of The Venture Bros.

I thought so too. I saw a lot of IMDB complaints about Cullen not shooting him full of holes, but I understand why the writers didn't do it and thought it was a powerful episode. Some good foreshadowing with the snake, a good "yin and yang" between Cullen and the Swede, and even the harmonica as a thread to the twisting of the Swede's brain.

"Reverse hanging" was also an interesting way to bump him off.
