Not that he didn't ask for it, but do the security cops generally carry tasers?

Maybe they do, but when: "Investigators told ABC 6 that Curtis Smith, 33, of Coatesville, entered the Chester County Justice Center in West Chester around 12 p.m. and attacked a sheriff’s deputy with a knife..." I think the situation has escalated past less-lethal response.

Completely dependent on the court, who runs the court security, and whatever the local rules are.
