I just spoke with SADShooter's best friend. Very nice man, said he's known Sad since they were 14 years old and were very close. There's no good way to put this: Sad fell, hit his head, and bled to death. They don't know yet what caused him to fall - heart attack, aneurysm, or some other issue. This happened early in the weekend and he wasn't found for three to four days. BF called him daily and after day four, was worried that Sad hadn't called him back. They spoke regularly 4-5 times a week and four days with no contact was cause for alarm. He called Sad's employer, who sent someone to his apartment for a wellness check, and they found him.
Sad is divorced and has no children, his elderly parents still live in San Antonio (where BF also lives). BF went to Dallas and took care of Sad's apartment since his parents couldn't. He said when he got to Sad's computer, it was still on, and APS was still open. He said they'd talked many times about how much Sad enjoyed APS and the people associated with it. BF said to be sure everyone on APS knows how much the group meant to Sad and what an important part of his life it was.
We talked a bit about the group. I extended prayers and condolences on behalf of APS and said if there was anything we could do, to reach out to us. He said if any of you would like to call him to talk about Sad, you're welcome to do so, he won't turn down an offer to talk about his best friend.
PM me for name and phone number.
