When you thought that Orwell was mostly writing fiction... nope. Doublethink, does it ring a bell, anyone?

Yep, the Left took it as a "How To" book.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

I'm not too "up" on this, but aren't people confusing "protected class" with "minority?"

My understanding (so far) is that Asians, for example, might be a "minority" in some specific areas or jurisdictions, but they were not originally included as a "protected class" according to the federal definitions.

I'm not challenging the definitions of either, just the notion that "minority" in terms of numbers equals "protected class" under the federal definition.

Thus, while Hispanics may be in the numerical majority in the subject municipality, this does not remove their protected class status.

I'm fairly sure the lecturer in that clip does not understand that difference.

Words have meaning.
Well, they used to.
Now they just mean whatever the *expletive deleted*ck the idiot pushing his/her agenda want them to mean.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

In that video, the oriental gal said that any "non-white" ethnicity is a minority, and she included Hispanics.

Why are Hispanics automatically assumed/declared/classified to be non-white? My late wife was from a Latin American country. As far as I know she was considered to be "Hispanic" by the U.S. government ... and she was incensed. She said in no uncertain terms that she was white, and never mind the "federal definition."

What, exactly, does "Hispanic" mean? To me it means "from Spain." Which means that probably 98% or more of "Hispanics" in the U.S. aren't Hispanic at all. And Spain (along with Portugal) is, last I knew, still part of Europe. Spain was part of the Roman Empire. The Spanish language evolved from Latin alongside French, Portuguese, and Italian. So why are rench and Italians considered to be white, but Spaniards (and their South American brethren) are ... something else?

I R confoozed.

Racism is a Federal policy. From filling out personal info on a standardized test to completing an FFL form, to affirmative action you are distinguished by race and forced to pigeonhole yourself in one category or another. We are NOT to be considered "just citizens", equals, for whatever reason or purpose. But of course there is good racism, and bad racism. Just like there are good terrorists, and bad terrorists  ;/. If teh gubbermint sponsors it, it's good, if you do it on your own it's bad.  :police:

Seeing as how there's no check-box for "Self Identifies as American Eskimo Pacific Islander Female Head of Household" I  just check "Other" and let them sort it out.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!

When I was a VERY young child I cracked my dad up with this song and pantomime: "I'm, a little teapot, short and stout, here is my handle, (puts one hand on hip) and here is my spout, (puts other hand on hip, looks surprised) Well I'll be damned! I'm a sugar bowl!"
I might not last very long or be very effective but I'll be a real pain in the ass for a minute!
