Yes and no.

There is a slight glimmer that we can work something out - but only *very* slight.

Also, if I stick around until a certain date, there's a bonus to be had.

But I'm laying the groundwork for finding another job, that's for sure.

Down 0.96% in 2015.   =(

Overall rate of return since 1995 is equivalent to ~9.1%, compounded annually.   =)

Don't ask me about January 2016.   :'(
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

I got at least 20 years until I retire, it will rise and fall again a few more times before then. Right now I am just staying the course to keep throwing money at it.

All signs point to 2016 being down more, flattish (small ups and downs) or only slightly positive. Then again, there was a good five year run before it went flat in 2015. The stock market average over time is probably along the lines of three steps forward, one step back.

This could be a year for bargain hunters in the oil and financial sectors though.

As of today, my 401(k) is in the black, to the tune of 0.12%.  This is since the first of the year.  I had been down $ 40,000 so far this year, but as of today have made that back.

I read in a few places that a few folks are  predicting that we are going to be 2-3% growth for the next 5-7 years, then it will be 8-10% for a period of time.

Well, if there is one thing you can count on it is economic predictions.

It's one that makes sense with the current state of the world economy.

I'm in black now year to date, but not for the last 12 months.

I'm up better than 10% YTD.  Mostly because my PCAR shares have come back to $54/share.  Holding out for $60+ before I move any out of company stock into mutual funds.

It's hard to make accurate predictions, especially about the future.  ;)

Anyway, my YTD rate of return is finally back in positive territory, a whopping 1.38%.
