Who Is Your Candidate
« on: January 08, 2016, 01:45:01 PM »
http://www.isidewith.com/

Go to this site and take the "quiz," it will tell you where you line up against the candidates and which part you most align with.

Party wise it says 88% Constitution and for President 91% Rubio.

There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Unsurprisingly, it's Ted Cruz for me. (95%) Interestingly, they put me at 92% for Rubio as well, which would be fine if I actually trusted him. (I don't trust Trump... but I trust him more than Rubio.)

They place me on the line between Right Wing and Libertarian, which is quite right and part of why I find the Libertarian assaults on "TEH THEOCRACY LOVERS!!!" so amusing.

I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

That is actually a pretty good quiz if you make sure to answer all the extra questions. I like that they have many options for each question. About the only place I would have liked to see more/different choices was on guns (but I was too lazy to add my own).

Also I think a few of the available choices forced me a little into liberal land because the "conservative" choices were a little too hardline for me. I think that's why Clinton and Sanders were as high as they were.

90% Cruz
89% Carson
88% Rubio
84% Huckabee
83% Trump
83% Fiorina
82% Paul (surprised he was that low for me)
79% Bush
78% Santorum
69% Kasich
61% Christie
39% Clinton
39% Sanders
37% Webb
23% O'Malley

90% Cruz- which makes sense. He's the only candidate who I can honestly say that I'd vote for.

Tied 91% each with Cruz and Paul. Which is pretty accurate, considering the poll didn't need to tell me as I already knew that...

I also found the map interesting. According to it, I'd be politically happiest in about half of AZ, and a third each of TX and OK, with some smattering of regions in the south.

Not surprisingly, Cruz 97% and Carson 94%.

Did Fiorina not make the cut?  (and Huckabee did?)

Looks like the pollsters think I'm most in sync with the 4 current leaders in the GOP polling. (Cruz is my choice, by the way.)

Jeb seems 'way too high. (So, for that matter, does Hillary.)

It also showed me very individualistic and decentralized, tending libertarian/economic.

The weird one was it showed me agreeing with sanders, dems, and greens on healthcare and science. I did say I wanted more space exploration, and NASA was the only answer there (vs privatized), so that could explain science. On healthcare, however,  I went strongly for the abolish obamacare and privatize, so I can't understand how I side with the socialists there. Maybe I accidentally clicked a wrong (for me) answer while going through that section. Of course it also showed me agreeing with Cruz on healthcare and science, so who knows.

See my post up above. :)

That's why I liked it more than the average quiz of this nature, because instead of just "yes" or "no", you could answer with qualifiers.

I did all the additional questions, along with expanding all the answers.  I only choose "yes" or "no" maybe twice through the entire quiz.   I don't know how Bernie and Hillary even made out of the single digits for me...

And yes, it showed that I should be living in upstate SC.

And what's surprising is how Jeb! polls at 70-80% for everyone here.  Maybe that's because it's based on what he says vs. what we know he would do as POTUS.

Ayep. The curse of being socially liberal and fiscally conservative, I imagine. Worse, sensibly for both.

I just really wish Sanders had even an ounce of economic sense. Or Carson wasn't insane. Apparently I need to read up on Cruz.

Hell, I typed in a number of answers.  Probably skewed the results some.

72% Rand Paul.  "Moderate libertarian"  Would probably score higher if they properly rated "less gun control - reopen the machine gun registry, preferably repeal it".
