Black Olives Matter

. . . or, SJWs have no sense of  humor whatsoever:

http://eaglerising.com/35205/restaurant-posts-sign-black-olives-mattersocial-media-loses-its-mind/

TL;DR: Italian restaurant posts "Black Olives Matter" sign.  Outrage and vitriol ensue.

At least the place wasn't burned down.  Yet.

Could be priceless if the owner turns out to be Sicilian.

Know the difference between a Sicilian actuary and an Italian one?  An Italian actuary can tell you how many people are likely suffer fatal accidents in the next year, while a Sicilian actuary can tell you who they are.

This firearms quiz was linked at the bottom.  I got 28 out of 30.  I should have known one of those.  Why do these things expect us to know the details of every assassination attempt in the history of the US?

Olives are like tomatoes. You don't want to actually taste them, but they make a good background ingredient.

27 out of 30, but I would contest at least one of the answers they claim I got wrong.

Oh yes we could
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

Garlic and/or Blue Cheese stuffed Olives FTW  !!

The Blue Cheese stuffed ones are actually very good in a Dry Martini..

Oddly enough, though I'm not a big fan of olives on my plate, I like olive oil - as in oil & vinegar dressing on my salad, for dipping bread, etc.

As for the sign . . . simply adding an "O" (as in Obama?) to a name of a group POTUS seems to support - brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

Should have gone the rest of the way.  >:D

Tastes can be quite individual. My wife and I like scratch macaroni and cheese made with black olives and mushrooms and topped with kimchi. And, no, I am not making that up.  We really like it that way.

Wow. I would not touch macaroni with any of those things on it. Not even the cheese.

I've had some kimchi from the local Korean taco joint. It was better than sauerkraut, which I do not eat, but I didn't especially like it.

Canned olives are OK, if unremarkable.  The good ones come from an Italian or Greek deli.  I love all of them.

Several stores local to me, including Safeway, now have olive bars. Pricey but they're fresh!

In the same display will be various garlics and peppers and other things and they place them near a specialty cheese/meat floor fridge so you can put together the ingredients for a nice anti-pasto in just a minute or two.

I'm just happy that you can get jars of kalamata olives in the regular grocery stores now. And you can even get pitted and sliced options, too!  =D

When the sliced came out, my olive cream cheese went from better than the bagel place too so awesome I don't even go to the bagel place anymore!
