Debt isn't an issue? That's an incredible assertion.
Debts don't just sit there; there is interest charged on every debt, not to mention it's effect the value of a flaoting currency. On a debt of many trillions of dollars the interest is no small amount, and over decades it is an enormous amount of money.
Anyone who thinks it is doesn't understand either debt or economics.
