Trump -- Doing something right
« on: January 28, 2017, 01:05:05 PM »
https://www.yahoo.com/news/europe-must-firm-response-trump-hollande-142646979.html

He has France and Germany with their knickers in a twist, and he's only been in office for a week. I wonder if his tee shirt is blue with a big 'S' on the chest.

Quote
Hollande spoke out a day after Trump -- who has made clear he thinks other EU countries will leave the bloc -- called Britain's exit from the European Union a "wonderful thing".

...

"And when he refuses the arrival of refugees, while Europe has done its duty, we have to respond."

Exactly who made it Europe's "duty" to accept a horde of so-called "refugees," who have turned out to be a bunch of ungrateful louts who are terrorizing the countries that have given them refuge? Just because Europe (or the elites in Europe) believes it has some sort of "duty" to import the seeds of its own destruction, what gives Hollande or Merkel or any of their leaders any right to pronounce that the U.S. must similarly race headlong down the same path toward self-immolation?

Quote
The French and German foreign ministers meanwhile voiced "concern" about Trump at talks in Paris.

"Welcoming refugees who are fleeing war is part of our duty," France's Jean-Marc Ayrault said following a meeting with his new German counterpart, Sigmar Gabriel.

I still don't see why it's the West's "duty" to accept all these so-called refugees. They're predominately Muslim -- why isn't it the "duty" of other Muslim countries to take them in? They can go to Iran or Saudi Arabia or Kuwait and live under Islamic law, rather than going to France, Germany, Sweden, et al and immediately starting to attach Christians and arguing that they should be subject to Sharia law, not the law of the country the relocated into.

GO TRUMP!

Trump has been busy in his first week.  It is good to see.  It is especially good as he appears to have meant what he said during the campaign.  It is also great when I note who the people are that are most upset by what he is doing.

Joint Press Release Between Border Patrol and ICE Councils

As representatives of the nation's Frontline immigration officers and agents responsible for enforcing our laws and protecting our borders, we fully support and appreciate President Trump's swift and decisive action to keep the American people safe and allow law enforcement to do its job. We applaud the three executive orders he has issued to date, and are confident they will make America safer and more prosperous. Morale amongst our agents and officers has increased exponentially since the signing of the orders. The men and women of ICE and Border Patrol will work tirelessly to keep criminals, terrorists, and public safety threats out of this country, which remains the number one target in the world – and President Trump's actions now empower us to fulfill this life saving mission, and it will indeed save thousands of lives and billions of dollars.
For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

I saw the title and thought the thread was gonna be about Trump firing AG Yates for insubordination.  Wife is watching some late night news show upstairs, and I can hear the news people all upset about it.

No, no, no, no.  If we were talking about that it would title "Monday Night Massacre" of  One Acting AG.....for refusing to enforce the law.  (

See the EO Trump signed just directs the executive branch agencies to follow the 2015 law signed by.....wait for it.

It's truly a new regime when the President expects the AG (acting or in fact) to enforce and defend the laws. Apparently Ms. Yates didn't get the memo that Barack Obama is no longer the Chief Executive, so the Justice Department doesn't get to decide which laws it wants to defend any more.

My understanding is that the correct way for an AG to do this is to notify the President / White House first, as in, "I cannot in good conscious enforce this. I would be happy to discuss it with you, and/or provide you with my resignation".

Instead, she just sent out an email to nearly 100,000 civil servants telling them not to enforce it. That is insubordination at best. It may be childish, but  I turn all these incidents around to, "What if they did it to Obama?" Because all the complainers would be screaming bloody murder (and did) if anyone in govt dared "resist" Obama.

Because that would be racist. Any opposition to the president is racist. So at one week in office, Trump has already located and eliminated multiple racist elements in our executive branch.

The question is, did he reach out to her to notify her that her services were no longer required, or did he announce it to the press while sending in a cadre of guards to escort her out of her office?

I'd have gone with option B.

Looks like the Dems are now showing how peeved they are by boycotting a number of hearings on Trump's cabinet picks.

Given that they have absolutely no ability to stop any of Trump's picks (with the exception of a Supreme Court nomination) due to the nuclear option rules that they themselves put into place...

I'm beginning to think that their Schadenfreud fountains are flowing at max...

Oh, you ain't seen nothing yet.  I heard that Trump is going to announce his USSC pick at 7pm tonight.   I need to go see a doctor today.  I think if my schadenboner gets any bigger, I may suffer a stroke and die.

And yes, I went and bought several 5 gallon Jerry cans just to store all the hippie/leftie tears I anticipate from this announcement, although I fear they may not be enough.

Well, it was the same thing. If she had been traveling and was prevented from coming back she would have died. It isn't his fault Trump didn't institute the ban on Inauguration Day.   ;/
