other than the safety on a 1911, or BHP,  I am not a big fan of them.  Revolvers don't have on, Glocks don't have one, my XDS does not have one.  For the most part, they are just not needed.

The advantage I see with this safety device is that it doesn't affect the mechanical parts of the trigger and firing mechanism.  It just blocks it.  You can tune the pistol up for a nice trigger pull and this doesn't affect it.  Also, if you don't want to use it, you don't have to.  It doesn't appear to get in the way if left unused and it only has a minor affect on looks.  It doesn't increase the overall width like many pistols do.

Good point, I didn't think of that.  Without using it, it works like just another DAO pistol.

See?  Despite what my mother told me, I ain't perfect.

Anther example of think twice, post once, so thanks, MechAg94.

Sort of like the old rule about never buying a new model car.

That is a rule I follow.  It also applies to guns, airplanes, electronics.... pretty much everything.  Unless I am getting a heavily discounted price or paid to be a tester, I'll wait until someone else works out the bugs.

Glocks don't have one,

You're right.  Glocks have two.

If you count the grip safety, the XDS has that and the trigger thing.

IMO, this is a safety that could designed so that it is out of the way and not an eyesore if not used.
