Man tries to kiss rattlesnake.  The rattlesnake apparently was not drunk enough to let him get to first base and bit him in the face.

I'm going to combine quite a few sayings here, but:

Some people are only alive because there are no more apex predators in their immediate locality.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

I guess they had to destroy the snake because it didn't have a rabies tag. Yeah, that's right.  Its collar probably slipped off somewhere.
