Bought a handle of Kirkland spiced rum...
« on: December 20, 2017, 08:41:35 PM »
I have no idea what to do with it.  (I'm sipping some right now)  Eggnog?  Mix with [diet] ginger ale?

Don't some of y'all drink Kraken, Cap'n Morgan, and Sailor Jerry?

This website will tell you every drink you can make with the ingredients you have.

https://makemeacocktail.com/recipes/Spiced+Rum-cocktails/?ing=3770   You might need an account (free, iirc) to see the spiced rum drinks.

Also, Google will give you plenty of ideas.

I'm not a fan of spiced rum, so I'd make eggnog.

I do Kraken and coke. Red Solo cup or whatever you have. Fill with ice. Fill half full with rum, top off with coke, squeeze of lime. Drink until your lips go numb and then lay down and go to sleep. ;)

As an aside we went out to dinner the other night and I wanted a Iced Coffee/Rumchata. They had no rumchata, no Kraken and no Sailor Jerry. Ended up doing an Irish Coffee with a shot of Fireball thrown in for the cinnamon, it was pretty good. :)

Hot coffee with shot of spiced rum and some whipped cream on top sounds good.  I may have one for breakfast; it's too late for coffee now.

I use spiced rum only for two things...

Baking, and making hot toddys.

Baking is normally rum balls. Occasionally I'll make a tort or cake that requires spritzing or soaking in rum.

Hot Toddys? Yeah, that's where it's at.

Cup of strong coffee with a shot of spiced rum and a little whipped cream on top was pretty good.  It'll take me a long time to use up 1.75 liters -- but then again if I make eggnog, maybe not.

Naval Broadside:

1/2 Spiced Rum
1/2 Fireball

An ice cube or two....

Take women and children and bed them down.

Sweet memories to drive us on,
