Blizzard!!!
« on: January 22, 2018, 01:34:52 PM »
Well was supposed to start yesterday, rained a bit instead, decided to kick in late morning and went from 3-5" snow to 20" of snow.

And 40 mph winds, this ought to be interesting.

I'm working from home and looks like a snow globe outside.

I juts came in from shoveling the sidewalk.  About 3 to 4 inches of slush.  It's still coming down pretty hard, but has mostly turned to snow.  Large fluffy flakes that are falling way too fast; falling fast means they are still really wet and heavy.

It's been in the 60s and later this week, it will get back to more seasonal temperatures of mid-40s. I keep waiting for winter to start here...

And then I have to remind myself. This is the South. This is winter.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

Fun. I think this is skirting north of my friends in Marion. 2 years ago today was our big blizzard.

We got that, I need to go clean that off before the next round comes. That slush is a bitch to get up if freezes.

Saw 70° yesterday, a chilly 46° today.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

We're supposed to drop into the mid-30s overnight before reaching a sunny 62 tomorrow.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

Ended up being fizzard here, hour north got piss pounded with heavy wet snow. The 3" we got of wet stuff kept clogging up both my snowblowers, so had to hand shovel it all.
