A Labrador retriever on energy pills
« on: December 04, 2020, 09:30:16 PM »
She's a 3-year-old lab (mix), and she ate most of a bottle of B12 gummies. Possibly about 6000 micrograms. As if she really needed that.

Luckily, the local emergency vet clinic said it shouldn't be a problem. 'Course, they're not going to be the ones trying to sleep in the same house with her tonight...

I hate to think what that's going to be like coming out the other end.

Can't be worse than a pair of Australian Shepherds running back and forth through the house all day long.  Back and forth back and forth back and forth back and forth.

Best way to tire out Aussies is to take them to a random playground full of kids and turn them loose.  Did you know you can get 128 4th graders on one carousel?

That is an awesome mental image.

B12 is a water soluble nutrient. Harmless but her urine is probably dayglo green today.

Yeah, the answer I got when I complained about all that random activity with two Australian Shepherds was "Well, they have to use  up energy by herding sheep."

'Cept we didn't have no sheep.

But there was a lady nearby who had a bunch of Llamas and would let people run their shepherds (all kinds) on the Llamas and after watching several episodes of this, the discerning eye (mine) could tell the Llamas were actually training the dogs how to herd.  Fun for all !

Anyhow, glad your pup is OK.  I was surprised you didn't mention the problem I had with labs... their thwappy tails, which would knock things off coffee tables and the like and pummel other small critters like two year old kids.   FYI JIC, both chocolate and grapes are poisonous to dogs. Like poinsettias are poisonous to cats.

For a Noo Yawk City boy, I sure learned a lot about no-, two-, four-, six-, and eight-legged critters after we moved out to Colorado.

The tail does cause trouble sometimes. She was whacking it against an old, very thin-walled wooden crate today. Sounded like a drum solo.

Biden would survive about three minutes with that dog. For some reason, Kamala keeps calling me...
