From an atheist point of view I dont regard things as sinful or not sinful. However I do apply a moral compass to various aspects in life that includes things not to do. I call no foul on stripping, everybody present in a strip club is a willing participant therefore no willful harm is being done. Having said that I would never date a stripper/ex-stripper as I see any form of selling yourself for someones sexual gratification as prostitution (whether sex happens or not). As far as the "I'm just paying my way through college" story goes I am sure a few are. most however are just paying for a drug addiction.

And talk about a person whose body was in great physical condition!  But I guess that's pretty much true for all dancers...

While I've only been in a strip joint twice in my life (both times with a group of friends that drug me along) I never saw any very attractive women in the place. In fact once there was a girl dancing who had to be at least 6 months pregnant   .

I'm pretty sure they threw that in so no normal heterosexual male could claim to be sin free.  And for the ladies, if you're hot enough to cause lustful thoughts in any man that you aren't married to, you are a sinner.  Most self-proclaimed experts on the bible will be quick to let you know that all homosexuals are sinners.  So pretty much the only folks who have a chance at going sin free are the very unattractive women.  Of course if they're around guys who've had too much of the bottled sin, their unattractive forms may yet draw lustful gazes.  And so it is, no human be safe from sin.

The misunderstanding of the Catholic concept of sin and the ramifications of sin live on... the myth of the Church as a manipulative, tyrannical organization lives on too...

Bogie, you'll notice that people all over the world feel guilty for all sorts of reasons, so you can't blame Christianity.  It's actually the most liberating religion out there.  You don't really have to do anything to be forgiven, you just ask.  Well, OK, there is this one large denomination that's into penance and such.  Hint:  Penance is not a Biblical concept.

I dated  an ex-stripper, 26 and too old for it. She was very honest with herself, give a 19yo with no home life $500 a night and nothing good could possibly happen. Clapton wrote a song about it.  Lots of broken people in that business, but in this case at least a good human who needed a friend. I really hate the folks who make blanket judgements, looking down their noses. Different circumstances and that could be their life.
