End of an era...
« on: January 25, 2007, 02:04:34 AM »
In the CT based Metropolitan League, last night 1/24/07, the Windsor pistol team (mine) suffered it's first defeat in 5 1/2 years at the hands of the Manchester team. Score (out of a possible 1500 total) 1399-1395. It's the first time in the 4 years I've been on the team where EVERY top shooter on the team had an off night. Yours truly included, but my shooting has been come and go lately anyways. Usually one or two of us will be off but the rest will pull through for us. There are at least 8 guys on the team who can shoot 280 or better at any given time. All of us were down ~5 points off our average, some even more. If only one had shot their usual score we would have pulled it out. Oh well, it gave us a chance to show we can be gracious losers too. Key word, LOSERS!! If anyone needs me I'll be drowning my sorrows in tequila and beer. Have some bail money ready just in case. cheesy

Oh, we're still in first place though.  rolleyes

 grin

We shoot 30 rounds/300 possible points per shooter at 50 ft in .22. The top 5 scores for each team go into making up the possible 1500 total. Thought you might like to know that.

So you're no longer 280Plus?  Maybe it's time for a name change: JustBarely280 or NotQuite280. Cheesy

Or

"Wish the **** I could still shoot 280"

Yea, something along that line. cheesy

Sad part is just a couple weeks ago I shot a 290 in an individual match.  rolleyes

I shot a good slow fire but dropped the ball on timed and rapid. What's that guy's name. Clayton Jones?

Actually 280plus is more of a goal I strive to achieve, 279 is ok. 278 ehhhh we'll take it. I shot a 274.  shocked

Pardon me, it's time for another shot.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering about. I prefer metal sights - it feels more "authentic" somehow.
