Think of it this way, a doll isn't as good as the real thing and may serve to simply increase their desire to attempt the real thing.

That sounds like the reasoning against porn in general: that viewing it increases the viewer's desire, making them more likely to commit acts of rape. Believe that was first stated by an incarcerated serial killer, so I have some trouble putting any stock in it.

Didn't SCOTUS rule in favor of cartoon child pron? The dolls would seem analogous.

Not sure to what you're referring. I know there was a SCOTUS ruling on completely computer generated child porn (they ruled against it). And I'm still somewhat conflicted on it, as there's no victim (no model used, so no child put into a sexually explicit situation). So... on the one hand, "ick"... but without a victim, there shouldn't be a crime...

What was that about a pearl handled revolver and someone from New Orleans again?

I poorly phrased my comment. I would imagine that is the thought process in those who are against the idea. As to the "not as 'good' as the real thing part, ever used a condom? (drops mic)

Besides, if they can't get a doll, what's to stop them from chewing one out of a Pop Tart?  (Or Toast 'Em)

Being in Canada I don't think they give a rats ass about what the SCOTUS has ruled.

Ah, yes.

According to The New York Times (a former newspaper), SCOTUS ruled in favor of the animated kiddy pron.

So I guess they must have ruled against it.  =)

Now I'm curious about Justice Thomas's concurring opinion, which they mentioned in passing but didn't give any details.  BTW, I thought Strings was right on this, but I guess we were mistaken.

I will refrain from making any jokes about the preponderance of Catholics on the SCOTUS.  :P

Toronto businessman brings sex robot brothel to the Galleria area

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The owner of a Canadian-based sexbot business said Friday its first franchise in the U.S. will be located in the Galleria area on Richmond Avenue. He did not want to give an exact address without permission of the franchise holders.
Wonderful.  Just what Houston needs.

I wonder if they have illegal immigrant sex slave dolls.  I have my doubts if the mayor's sanctuary city ideas will extend to sex dolls.

Wow... I could have SWORN I had read that SCOTUS had upheld the law. Weird

I'm still conflicted about the whole thing. But, then again, isn't the 1st Amendment about protecting speech that we find ugly/uncomfortable/unpopular?
