Mr. Risk Manager will be handing out Kit Kat bars tonight. Although unfortunately, there is only one kid in our development in the appropriate age range, and it is predicted to be raining.

In Iowa, everything is about the corn.

Candy Corn, is simply dyed sugar.

I had to stop at the local Taco Bell on the way home. I ordered a single taco, and Hot Honey Little chicken sandwich. (It's a combo KFC/Taco Bell).
I've liked the Nashville Hot, and Georgia Gold sauces, but this one was meh. Anyway, it allowed me to stock up on sauce packets to hand to the (Too) older kids who come around after Trick or treating hours. I give out one Reese's, one Crunch bar, one Kit-kat, and one Butterfinger to each kid of appropriate age. I bought the candy about a week ago and stuck it in the freezer, so there would be no danger of it melting.

I was handing out Kit Kats, Reeses, M&Ms, twix, Hershey bars, and 3 Musketeers.

Went through all 7 bags, too. Had about 6 pieces of candy left at 8 when we closed up for the night.

(I did have a candy reserve, just in case.)

None here, either, as usual. Senior Citizen building. First two years I was here I got $many.00 of goodies, not a kid showed up. I guess the kids figure the place is full of those mean old meanie people. Had to eat some of it myself <ick>, hard to distribute it to other residents, most of whom do not eat sweets, including me. Threw out about half of it.

Nowadays I do no prep for "The Evening Before The Hallowed Day" (hallowe'en) except to unscrew the front door light bulb just in case. (It's under the control of a building-wide timer.) Used to be that was a signal for the kids not to trick or treat at that house. Don't know if it still is, so nowadays it's just a chicken soup superstition on my part.

OMG... I've not had a Chick-O-Stick in YEARS. I freaking LOVED them as a kid... Same with Zagnut, which was quite simiar...

Side note: I will also take those sorta peanut butter taffy (ish) "candies" in the black or orange wrappers. (Mary Jane Peanut Butter Kisses)

SWMBO and I were talking about the lack of kids coming out for Trick or Treat. Her supposition is that the reason why there is less kids out is that there are so many more Trunk or Treats/activities that kids can get candy at that there is a lack of interest of going out on Halloween night.

Our local town has a lot of trunk or treat activities by the local businesses and local churches. A number of them were even before Halloween, as well as on the day itself.

I don't know anyone who eats Hot Tamales. Snickers, in second, can I believe. Tootsie Pops in third?

I'm guessing some of these stats are skewed by how cheap the population is around Halloween rather than how popular the candy actually is for eating.
