Trump, the embarrassed rights gunfighter
« on: December 03, 2018, 02:14:30 PM »
VDH draws a comparison between Trump and Shane.

A lot of Americans who are and will benefit from Trumps policies will never support or defend him.

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Victor Davis Hanson and Conrad Black have both been writing articles like this in NR for awhile now. ???
In the moral, catatonic stupor America finds itself in today it is only disagreement we seek, and the more virulent that disagreement, the better.

VDH has a bunch of youtube videos that seem to indicate he is supportive of Trump or at least not against him.  I don't normally read all his articles though.  Now National Review certainly was and I think VDH commented one of the videos that he is alone in supporting Trump in such groups.

VDH is a very smart and rational guy. Even if he put out an anti-Trump article, I would give it a thoughtful read, because I know that he would provide a logical, factual argument open to debate. The opposite of people like Bill Krystal or "conservative" Jennifer Rubin.

I've read just about everything VDH has written.  I recall watching a video of VDH speaking about Trump shortly after he was elected.  While he didn't care for Trump the person, he is very impressed with Trump the President.

Anyway, I never saw or read anything from VDH as him being a "Never Trumper".

I’m also a long time reader of VDH and take his thoughts on subjects seriously.

As a side note, rumor has it, The Weekly Standard will be closing up shop soon.

No money in being a never Trumper I guess.
