The other night I made Sloppy Joes, which I've not made in god knows how long.
They were REALLY good. I loved them as a kid, and I decided that I still love them.
I used this as the base recipe, but changed it somewhat...
https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/24264/sloppy-joes-ii/I used ground turkey, added some tomato paste, some chipotle peppers in adobo, Southwest Spicy mustard instead of yellow, Italian herb seasoning, some chili powder, and some smoked paprika. I also cut back on the sugar and added a splash of cider vinegar.
Took me back to when I was a kid and mom would occasionally make them, and also when they were a regular menu item for school lunches.
Anyone have any variations that they like?
