OTOH, some jokes progress from funny, to not funny, to "seriously, this is not funny", to hilarious.  (Family Guy does this a lot)  How long they keep one gag running becomes the joke.

(Am I supposed to do something to lose the Amy K. moniker?  It's annoying, but it seems to be annoying other people a lot more than it annoys me, so I'm good with it )
