How many fellow THR members?
« on: February 13, 2007, 10:11:16 PM »
I am new to APS but I've been at THR for a couple years. I decided to check this place out, and was wondering how many of you are members of The High Road as well as Armed Polite Society? How many of you are members here but not at THR?

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of APS members heard about it on THR. There might be a few exceptions though, I dunno.

Yep.  TFL, then THR some years ago after the first demise of TFL, then APS when the Roundtable was closed.
I guess that means I have no life.  Sigh...

I came here from THR, and now I rarely visit, read or post at THR.  Too much BS, trolling, idiocy.

Ben, do you mean to say that 1911 forum is greater than TFL which is greater than THR which is greater than APS?

I like 1911 forum also.

TFL, then THR when TFL went on hiatus.  Now that TFL's back, I don't visit THR anymore.   I still stay active at TFL and TRP, though.

TFL to THR to APS.

I don't spend much time on the two gun boards anymore.  Like others have said, too much bs...

Been spending more time on radio and bike related forums.

I still visit THR everyday. I spend most of my time in the Rifles forum, it seems like there's fewer chicken littles and less shrill alarmism in that forum as compared to General Gun and (as Art says), L&Pee.

I've been a member at TFL for a while too, but only visit there once a week or so.

GlockForum(name?)>THR>APS

THR is in about cycle 3 of discuss, get new guys, discuss again. In the dedicated gun parts anything I've not seen before is rare. In general and legal there's a lot of rinse and repeat too. Add to that that the general and legal are way over moderated IMO and now I only go there a couple of times a week.

I got to APS from THR, and I still hit both regularly, usually one right after the other. I tool around in General, L&P, S&T, Rifles, Handguns General, Autoloaders, and Accessories.

I also read ARFCOM regularly, but don't post often.

I'm currently looking for another chatting/social forum, but I haven't found one yet.

I came to THR via 1911forum.com.

Rarely visit 1911 any more.

Used to spend all my forum time at THR.

My THR time now is usually just a flyby to see whats up and if anything jumps out at me.

I spend most of my forum time here and at a backpacking forum board.

I'll pop in the local forum at ARFCOM also, I know a few people who hang out there in the flesh world.

Well, I wasn't banned from THR for a real major reason. Just me and another member got into a flame war because of his behavior at my site and I guess since he had a higher post count than me, he was allowed to stay and I got the boot.  I am banned from 1911forum for a weird reason. All I did was post a pic of my CO2 pistol and I get banned saying I was promoting illegal weapons.  Funniest thing I heard all day that day. I guess to them a CO2 gun is considered NFA.

Naw, that was my direction of progression. Started out on 1911 Forum, ended up here.  Smiley

Ditto.
You'll find I have the same name on just about every forum I post on.
THR, TFL, GlockTalk, and to a lesser extent AR-15.com...I think I've registered, just never posted.

I'm actually registered at a lot of firearms forums just so I could access the search function. At many of those forums I have few or no posts.

Why was the roundtable closed?  You think it would be better to move a thread, than to lock it as say, this is appropriate at APS.
