TL;DR version:  Swalwell claims that if his plan to ban and confiscate "assault weapons" had been in place, the Sandy Hook massacre would not have happened (conveniently forgetting that the perp also had handguns and at least one shotgun in his possession).  Predictably, he gets dragged.
