That is an excellent choice, but I may be somewhat biased towards S&W revolvers, esp Mountain Guns. I use a 25-5 and load up 255gr  hardcast semi-wadcutter to run about 900fps.

I thought about that but I want penetration and while an XTP is a fine bullet, I use them in 45 and 10mm I felt the hardcast SWC would get me more penetration. I have not shot anything that is breathing with them but they will move a bowling pin with authority. :)

Only shot deer with an XTP. No problem with penetration and over expansion.

But you're right, HC lead is the best choice. Just wish the LGS carried it instead of relying on mail ordering.
