A surplus is a good thing.  Bacon prices come down, so I can buy more bacon.

My thoughts exactly. I'll be able to eat more bacon when the prices come down. As it stands, I can find steaks on sale for bacon prices.

I didn't raise up any feeder pigs this year so I'm on the verge of needing to actually buy commercial bacon.
It's kind of a depressing condition to be in.
But, one must soldier on.

The price of bacon hasn't gone down here either.  I suspect it's because we're switching from the more expensive summer blend of bacon to the more expensive winter blend of bacon.

Seriously, I stumbled across an article recently that said there is actually a bacon shortage.  I didn't read it because I wouldn't have been able to handle the bad news.  It's certainly interesting that there are conflicting reports about bacon availability.
