Aren't they transitioning to propane? They already use it and I thought that was the future of refrigerants.
Can't patent propane Small manufactured appliances can use straight up hydrocarbons. Isobutane and cyclopentane being the most common. As I understand it, the residential market is likely to end up with hydrofluoroolefins, which is a fancy way to say "Flouranated alkenes".
