Ruger offers several variants of their Model 77 and American series with threaded barrels. Unknown if they offer a peep-sight version.

From what I've seen, most rifles with a threaded barrel won't come with sights.

I'd be looking at the Savage Mark II FV SR, and an LPVO

Henry makes at least one lever action .22 with a threaded barrel, but I think you'd have to add your own peep sight.

The sights may have to be added by a gunsmith.

I can't remeber the name right now but if you don't already have the can you want someone makes one that is flat on top with the baffles in the lower part.

That's what I was thinking, that a lever gun sounded perfect for that.

BTW, When I tried it in my Dad's Marlin 39 years ago, over 20 CB caps fit in the tube, and cycled perfectly.  Quiet fun.

Ruger makes this 10/22 barrel.  Ruger used to make a 10/77(?) that was a bolt action 10/22.  An integrally suppressed barrel might work.

I thought Silencerco made a rimfire Osprey version, but I don't see it on their website.

A vortex red dot would be a good option to look at.. They have several different styles.

Personally I like aperture sights a lot but it’s hard to get good irons on a rifle these days. The whole reason I brought my CZ was for the excellent Mauser style sights.

You may want to get a low power scope. Vortex makes a 2-7x33 Rimfire scope pretty cheap.

Nice thing about scopes is you can raise or lower them by height of the scope rings. I personally like to go as low to the barrel as possible, but you'll need to adjust according to the diameter of the can.

Red dots are easy and simple to use.  Even out to 50 yards, that is plenty close enough for basic plinking.  

I have no idea what cheaper red dots will work well.  Primary Arms had some cheaper versions.

You don't see red dots on varmint or bullseye rifles, just saying. Depending on the size of the dot, it may cover the rat at 50 yards.
