RIP. Seemed like a really decent fellow.

My father died of pancreatic cancer at age 60. Rough way to go.
What we have here is failure to communicate.

RIP,  always liked his show.

And there are a mess of celebrity Jeopardy quotes that come to mind, losing him and Connery in the essentially the same week.

Even today, pancreatic cancer usually has a poor prognosis.

Yes, five years on the outside.   My best friend for the past 30 years has been fighting it for over 2.5 years, chemo every other week.  He knows it's going to get him, but he's determined to live his life fully until it does.  He hunts every chance he gets, fishes in Alaska every year for weeks.  I'm not sure I could do that.

Yes, sad news about Alex Trebek.  He was a highly intelligent and engaging man, and made several snide comments about Hollywood liberals over the years.  RIP.

Pancreatic cancer sucks.  Took my grandmother, took my mother.  Both had surgery to remove the cancer (think it's called a Whipple procedure).  Both suffered horribly after.  No appetite.  No energy.  Just no real quality life as they withered away.  I remember my mother calling me to tell me she was just done with the chemo and radiation.  Done being sick all the time.  I remember taking her for a drive in her car (she has a first year Chrysler 300 with sunroof that she loved driving.  She called it her sports car.)  She wanted me to tell her it was okay.  My brother wouldn't.   I did...

Alex was a class act.  Never heard anything negative.  Frankly, heard little of him outside of his work. For a showbiz type, that's impressive. Rest in peace.  Thanks for the entertainment.
