Musk seriously needs a more remote testing area

Probably hard to balance an area remote enough to safely launch big, explosive rockets and an area not too remote to cost-effectively build and fuel big, explosive rockets.

There is a lot of support infrastructure at Canaveral for launches.

Missed it by " " that much.

Looks like they didn't shed enough velocity. Maybe should have re-lit the big candle a little sooner.

Green engine exhaust at the very end may indicate an engine failure plus the landing legs didn't deploy.

Think I recall seeing somewhere green indicates the engine is basically eating itself.

Not just the engine.  The whole thing ate itself.

Honestly, that was pretty solid.

They got like 90% there on the first try, stable bellyflop, landing flip back to stable vertical orientation, and on target.  Good stuff.

SN9 will be on the pad next week.

Green could be from the copper in the engine from something just read.
At startup it can be green from the TEB used to ignite the engine

This
Musk himself give it only a 30% chance.
