That's because you're not sufficiently woke, you cisnormative colonialist oppressor.

But seriously, to think that art has gone from St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel to . . . whatever the hell this is.

Sad.

Catholics used to be pretty good at communicating the gospel through images. Not just in a few, high-profile artworks, but through something as ubiquitous as the crucifix. A man nailed to a wooden crosspiece, his body twisted in pain. Powerful; relatable. Then there's this spaceman with a baby bjorn, and a B movie monster behind them. What in the actual?

That my friends is modern art.

The point behind it is to be absurd, disturbing and defiling by claiming to represent the true, good and beautiful.

It is subversion and propaganda not against Christianity, but against the very individual that trusts and believes in God.

It is not a nativity scene. It does not represent anything Christian.

Words have meaning.

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Can't you see it isn't a Nativity scene but a summoning by the Catholic church for the demon Flauros to kill all the heretics on the Solstice.

Ron said,

Allow me to amend that slightly:

"...but against the very individual that trusts and believes in God or his own sensibilities and rationality."

(Please note the "or.")

In other words, so that ultimately we will accept the notion that  2 + 2 = 5.

Doesn't most of the crap from the leftists this year fit that motivation?

We have a whole thread on "AOC's" pronouncements.  Look it over. Preponderance of evidence?
